Winter Fun Trip

Wow what a trip. Jamie and I left early for Lake Louise in Banff National Park around noon on Friday. We kept hearing that it was a bad storm but truthfully we didn't think it was that bad until we were on the highway…. Man alive I actually took pictures as we were driving…. We stopped counting cars off the road at 140 partly because it was getting even more hairy driving and partly because it was getting dark and you couldn't see them.

It took a long time but we managed to arrive in Lake Louise and get check into our room safely. the drive should have atken about 4 and a half hours took us 8 but again we made it safe.

Made some Puppy treats last night

Charlie is happy with me I made him some Peanut Butter puppy treats last night. They turned out okay for a first try. Next time I will use more Peanut butter and cook them a bit longer, then let them cool in the oven so that they crisp up.

The basic recipe I used was found here. I will take soem picture later and add them to this post

Can you beleive that it is fall again

Although with our weather this week you would never know that fall is here. 31C yesterday. Thank goodness we haven't taken the air conditioner out yet.

School has started. the first day was great both and Mac and Megan are enjoying their new teachers. Beside the bus being very late the first day things were okay.
Today has been a busy day. I made some bran muffins with chocolate chips and some cinnamon buns. I used the bread recipe from the down to earth webisite

Ball Hockey Sprin 2009

Mac played a bit of ball hockey this spring, he didn't really enjoy it and we found that he was more interested in playing hockey with the neighbourhoood kids then going to his games.

Next year he will not be registered. He had fun at the games he went to.

More of my Postcard collection

I love getting postcards from all over. I have many friends that send them to me when they travel and I also joined Postcrossing, a great sight for exchanging postcards.

I'm just teaching myself to crochet. I haven't done much yet. I have a few things on the go and find that my biggest problem seems to be tension. I think that practice and time will help with this.

This is the back and front of my first crochet dishcloth that I made for an exchange in the group At My House . The perfectionist in me would have liked to rip it out and redo it but I also know that I would never be completely pleased. I'm going to keep practicing until I get it better. I'm going to try some more of them when my other projects are finished.

I also made this potholder for the same exchange. A bit simpler but still needs work. Jamie was impressed.

Hearts Exchange

Tato, a great friend and the owner of one of my favorite yahoo groups "coffeecake" organized a gfelt heart exchange this winter. I really enjoyed it. Here are the hearts that I sent out

I received some really nice hearts. From some of my great friends

Mac Plays His First Game at Rexall Place

Mac really enjoyed his first time playing at Rexall. He and his team enjoyed watching the Oil Kings defeat Vancouver and then really enjoyed playing their game against the Eagles. Unfortunately they lost but they didn't care at all.

I can't believe that I'm doing a second post today. Must be the cold weather we are having and that the kids are happily playing in the kitchen with the play dough that I made today.

I decided that I should post the pics of some of the knitting and crocheting that I've been doing. I haven't blocked any of it because I mostly don't bother with dishcloths.

First is my seed stitch heart cloth. I got the pattern from a Leisure Arts Love to Knit Dishcloths book.

This is my plain Jane dishcloth that I make when I have a little time but can't be bothered to pay too much attention to what I'm doing.

This is the first KAL in the Monthly_Dishcloths group that I belong too. I think that I might make a couple more in other colours.

Here is Jamie's Scarf to match his hat that I made him before Christmas.

I'm not happy at all with this cloth, I used the needles called for int he pattern but feel that I should have used smaller ones.

Just an extra cloth that I found in my yarn stash, must have done it a while ago and then forgot about it.

This is my pebble stitch finger towel.

This is my 2009 cloth.
