Spring is Here

Spring Break is finally over.   The weather has finally turned to nice warm spring.  The snow is melting fast, the roads are still a bit of a mess and my car really needs a bath but not today.

I’m happy that the kids are back into a routine again.  Life is just so much easier with everyone going about things.  Baseball will soon be starting and life will be busy again.

This weekend I managed a grab a few minutes to craft.  Made myself a necklace I call it “Spring Fling”

IMGP5474  You can’t really tell from the picture but it multi coloured and has flower beads in it.  I plan to make a matching bracelet and earrings soon.

This weekend I got my new to me stove back inside.  I have been putting it to good use.  Yesterday I made brownies and today I tried a new recipe from a blog that I like called Cooking with Libby

I have a Banana Sour Cream Cake in the oven and will frost it before supper tonight.

January 2011

Wow is it cold this morning, Charlie (my dog, yes dog he is no longer a puppy) didn't even stay out long enough to run through the new snow.  He is now relaxing in front of the big window, probably dreaming of summer and chasing squirrels while we are camping.

This January seems to be slowly going by.

Mac turned 12 this month so I have 1 year left before I’m the mother of a teen although some days i think that I already am.  Mac has been skiing with his school, OLMC and has had fun going to an Oil Kings game with the Hockey Academy also this week he started training camps with Millwood’s Little League  I’m finding it hard to think baseball when it is –28C outside but I guess we are in the great white north.  Keeping up with Mac’s schedule is almost a full time job, driving him to school, hockey, friends and to ball camp takes up a lot of my time and gas.

Megan has been busy with friends at school using her crazy carpet at lunch and recess and making snowmen.  She has started figure skating again with Gateway and has moved up to the last group in the beginner session.  She has started crafting a bit and her drawings are rally getting better.

Melissa is busy with hockey and school.  She also has been to Chuck E Cheese with her new best friend Sage.

Today the boys are going to be shovelling out the yard and front walk.  We seem to be getting more snow then usual, the city has finally ploughed the front street which in some ways has made it worse to drive on.

Intuit Family Christmas Party

The kids really enjoyed Jamie's work Christmas Party. Between balloon artist, face painting, jumpy houses and crafts they had a blast. Mac had fun scooting around the complex on a scooter and chasing some girls.

Camping Near Brazeau Dam, Alberta

IMGP4946 Charlie enjoys sticking his nose out the side window while we were on the highway.

IMGP4947Jamie driving. IMGP4948 view out the front window we actually didn’t drive all the far this time, about 2 hours because of Jamie and I’s map reading problems, it was the map honest not us…... IMGP4949Megan and Melissa enjoys being able to colour while we were driving. IMGP4950 You can’t really see this that well but we drove on a gravel road for about 20 miles to get to our campsite. IMGP4952 Charlie took a nap a little ways away from the camper. IMGP4953 We set up out camp just off a road. IMGP4955 The girls spent quite a bit of time playing in the creek that was near the campsite. IMGP4971 Our first campfire, the kids had fun helping to find rocks to build up the ones that were already there from a previous camper. IMGP4981 IMGP4983 Jamie and I enjoying the fire. IMGP4984 Doesn’t Mac look like an angel?IMGP4985 Megan was having fun making toasted marshmallows for everyone.IMGP4986 This was one view from our campsite. IMGP4987 This is a walk we took the kids on.IMGP4989 IMGP4990 IMGP4991 IMGP4993 IMGP4994 IMGP4995 IMGP4996 IMGP5001 IMGP5005We had some company this little guy jumped on the RV.

IMGP5006 Mac was learning how to start the generator so we could use the power, we were going to have a bit of rain and wanted to be able to be inside playing Monopoly.IMGP5008 Melissa was watching the men start the generator.  IMGP5021Melissa was having fun taking her doll for a walk near the campsite.   IMGP5026 Charlie is ready to go home, he like to steal the passenger seat.  IMGP5029 Taking some time fish.IMGP5030 Not sure is Charlie was really helping with the fishing or not. IMGP5034 IMGP5043 IMGP5047 IMGP5048Over all a great trip.

Getting ready for our first RV camping trip

IMGP4936 Jamie is getting the storage units all locked up for the trip, we really wouldn’t want them to open up while on the highway.

IMGP4937Mac is very excited to get going.

IMGP4938Packed up and ready to go, Mac and I are holding the gate open so Jamie, Charlie and the girls can drive out of the backyard, then Mac and I get to close up the backyard.
