I made these a couple of weeks ago for a swap. I can’t wait to hear from my partner and see what she thinks of them.

This summer I found a swapping site that i am really enjoying. Swap-Bot is awesome I have made some new friends and participated in a few swaps. before vacation I made the following 2 bookmarks for one swap. I'm really looking forward to seeing what i get in return.
unfortunately the pictures don’t show enough detail. but i was in a hurry to get them out the door and into the mail before leaving.
This month we went back to Fish Lake Alberta, I really like the campground. It has everything that we need for everyone to have fun. The kids love to swim off the dock, Jamie can fish and we can all enjoy some time in the canoe, plus Charlie really has fun chasing the squirrels.
Here is Charlie and Jamie enjoying a little time sitting in their chairs.
Our second night we moved to a site near the lake. Much easier for us we could leave the canoe down near the water and not worry about it.
The other day i made these cookies for the kids, next time I will need to double the recipe so that maybe they will last a little longer. I have seen this recipe a lot lately on blogs, I wish I could remember where i came across it. I just can’t but I have been making them for a few years now. I think the pudding in them makes them so good. The kids like it when I use banana or butterscotch pudding.
Pudding Chocolate Chip Cookies
We got a late start last Monday; right around supper time we finally got the last of the things packed up, gases up and got out of the city. It was just starting to rain as we left. Thankfully we were able to leave the bad weather behind. I took a few pictures out the front window of the storm front as we left. Really spectacular.
As we got to Rocky Mountain House the sky cleared up and we could see the mountains.
Unfortunately due to our late start we arrived at Fish Lake after dark. Jamie and I had lots of fun finding a camp site and backing the RV into it then trying to walk back to the self-registration box to pay for the night. Mac and Melissa both fell asleep but Megan stayed up and had a treat with us before crashing for the night. We didn’t take the time to set up camp, just plugged the RV in and got something to eat.
Wow I can’t believe how long it has been since I last blogged. Time seems to get away from me.
Yesterday i made some awesome cookies, the kids love them way too much and they never last long. I hope to make 2 more batches today so that we have some for camping next week.
Ginger Snaps
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup margarine
1/4 cup molasses
1 egg
2 1/4 cup flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp cloves
1/4 tsp nutmeg
Mix ingredients together. Roll cookies into a ball and roll them in sugar.
Place on greased cookie sheet and bake at 350F for 8 to 12 minutes.
Cool on wire racks
Spring Break is finally over. The weather has finally turned to nice warm spring. The snow is melting fast, the roads are still a bit of a mess and my car really needs a bath but not today.
I’m happy that the kids are back into a routine again. Life is just so much easier with everyone going about things. Baseball will soon be starting and life will be busy again.
This weekend I managed a grab a few minutes to craft. Made myself a necklace I call it “Spring Fling”
You can’t really tell from the picture but it multi coloured and has flower beads in it. I plan to make a matching bracelet and earrings soon.
This weekend I got my new to me stove back inside. I have been putting it to good use. Yesterday I made brownies and today I tried a new recipe from a blog that I like called Cooking with Libby
I have a Banana Sour Cream Cake in the oven and will frost it before supper tonight.
Wow is it cold this morning, Charlie (my dog, yes dog he is no longer a puppy) didn't even stay out long enough to run through the new snow. He is now relaxing in front of the big window, probably dreaming of summer and chasing squirrels while we are camping.
This January seems to be slowly going by.
Mac turned 12 this month so I have 1 year left before I’m the mother of a teen although some days i think that I already am. Mac has been skiing with his school, OLMC and has had fun going to an Oil Kings game with the Hockey Academy also this week he started training camps with Millwood’s Little League I’m finding it hard to think baseball when it is –28C outside but I guess we are in the great white north. Keeping up with Mac’s schedule is almost a full time job, driving him to school, hockey, friends and to ball camp takes up a lot of my time and gas.
Megan has been busy with friends at school using her crazy carpet at lunch and recess and making snowmen. She has started figure skating again with Gateway and has moved up to the last group in the beginner session. She has started crafting a bit and her drawings are rally getting better.
Melissa is busy with hockey and school. She also has been to Chuck E Cheese with her new best friend Sage.
Today the boys are going to be shovelling out the yard and front walk. We seem to be getting more snow then usual, the city has finally ploughed the front street which in some ways has made it worse to drive on.
